In September 2020, within the program of Studio Kokyu, Dojo Na Grobli Aikikai was established. Classes are led by Przemysław Błaszczak (3rd dan, fukushidoin). Training follows the traditional form of aikido while being enriched by the instructor’s long-standing experience in physical actor training, offering a unique perspective on understanding movement and action.
Dojo Na Grobli Aikikai is a member of Birankai Polska, an organization officially recognized by Hombu Dojo – the World Headquarters of Aikido in Tokyo.
Our classes welcome anyone interested in martial arts, conscious movement practice, and deep physical training that allows for immersion in intensive practice and personal development. Training takes place in the dojo – literally “place of the way” – on tatami mats.
A typical class includes:
- opening ceremony,
- breathing exercises and warm-up (aikitaiso),
- learning falls and basic technical elements (turns, pivots, attacks),
- main technical practice,
- closing ceremony.
Aikido techniques include throws, joint locks, and immobilizations. Rather than meeting force with force, aikido uses circular movement to redirect and neutralize an attack. Practice also involves work with weapons: the jo (wooden staff) and bokken (wooden sword).
As in all Japanese martial arts, etiquette and discipline are central. There are two belt colors: white for kyu (student ranks) and black for dan (master ranks). Practitioners with dan grades also wear the traditional hakama trousers, rooted in samurai tradition.

Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art created by Morihei Ueshiba, known as O’Sensei. Developed from systems of unarmed combat and Japanese swordsmanship, aikido is a discipline with no competition – the practice itself is the goal.
Classes are open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, physical condition, or health. As Kisshōmaru Ueshiba, O’Sensei’s son, writes in his book Aikido:
“Aikido is the way of spiritual harmony. Its founder drew on many years of research, exploration, and training. Aikido is the art of becoming one with nature. There is no dualism, no fight, no opponent. There is only the harmonious interaction of your spirit with the spirit of the universe. The techniques of aikido are the physical expression of this harmony. Aikido is the way of reconciliation – the principle of the unity of all beings, expressed through the movement of the body.”
