The presentation of Studio Kokyu's work is a statement from the latest stage of research that the team consisting of Joanna Kurzyลska, Marta Horyza, and Marie Walker has been conducting under the direction of Przemysลaw Bลaszczak since the beginning of 2022.
Interest in the classical text of Euripides' tragedy led us to attempt to confront the material behind one of the most ambiguous figures of European culture, i.e. Medea - poisoner, child killer, sorceress, princess, murderer and avenger raging with despair, and finally a victim of the patriarchal system. Studying, asking questions about Medea is one aspect of our search, while another is the question about the performer, or rather a performer, about the possibility of reducing the stage form to a precise, naked performative structure.

In "I Come to You River: Ophelia Fractured" we attempt to retell Ophelia's story again, this time with the voices of contemporary young women who are looking for answers to the question about the message that comes from studying this iconic figure today. We shed light on Ophelia so that it will break down and reveal what is hidden in her fate. We observe how the cracks in her image are filled with new content and speak to us, about us. They talk about love and loneliness, about depression, about women and men, about parents, about the system that we are part of, whether we like it or not.
Upcoming performances to be announced June 2023.
