Na Grobli Dojo opened in September 2020 as part of Kokyu Studio’s programme. It offers aikido sessions taught by Przemysław Błaszczak Sensei (2nd Dan Fukushidoin). They are traditional aikido training sessions providing a perspective on understanding and explaining oneself in action, informed by Przemek’s many years of practice in the fields of aikido and physical performer training.
Kokyu Studio’s Na Grobli Aikikai Dojo works under the auspices of Wrocław Aikikai, whose founder and main instructor is Piotr Masztalerz Sensei (6th Dan). Wroclaw Aikikai is part of Birankai Poland, an organisation created by Shihan T.K. Chiba (8th Dan) which is officially recognised by the Aikikai Foundation in Tokyo.
These sessions are for those interested in a performative perspective on martial arts and all those with an interest in movement, body work, and training that enables regular and precise work on oneself.

Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art developed from a unique blend of combat systems and Japanese swordsmanship by Morihei Ueshiba, known as O’Sensei. It is a non-competitive discipline where training is an end in itself. The practice of aikido can benefit anyone, regardless of age, gender, health and fitness level. In his book Aikido, O’Sensei’s son, Kisshōmaru Ueshiba, writes:
‘Aikido is the ‘Way of […] Spiritual Harmony’. The Master, Morihei Ueshiba, originated it after having spent many years of research, practice and development. Aikido is the art of […] unification with nature. There is no duality, no struggle, no opponent. There is only a harmonious action of our own spirit with the spirit of the universe. The techniques of Aikido are the bodily realization of this Harmony. Aikido is the way of reconciliation. It is the principle of unity of all beings expressed by the movement of the body.’
